I’ve said it before and I will say it again; Change is the only constant force in the universe.
It challenge us, it pushes us forward so we can evolve and in the end we grow from each change that we encounter in our lives. That’s why I also choose to live by the words “Embrace the change!”. I’ve never been much of a security junkie and to be honest, I love to change things that already works just to make them better.
It’s all about progression.
You can see some of that progression here on the blog right now, which started a while back with a single thought: “How can I make this better?”. The old design was starting to rub me the wrong way and I felt that it was starting to get in the way of the content.
And the content is the most important thing when you blog, right?
That’s true to some extent because connecting through social media and highlighting comments as well as new content is also really important. Another thing that I felt was that the old design wasn’t really good enough for smartphones and tablets and I know that some of you out there enjoy reading blogs on your Ipads or your Iphones. And when something starts to rub me the wrong way, then I need to do something about it.
And here it is, the new design which is more of a magazine layout rather than a blog bloated with sidebars with all sorts of stuff going on. You can still find most of the old sidebars when you go into a post, so they are still there, but the front of the blog has been dedicated to highlight the content.
The post categories were, before the change, represented by a category list in one of the sidebars. It has been replaced by a menu underneath the header that will make the access to older content a bit easier than before.
As content is the king on the web increasing readability became an important design goal and I believe that has been achieved with the new design which has more air to it and is a bit more minimalistic without sacrificing the connection to social media and other places where we have activities going on.
So I hope you all will enjoy the new design and use the comments to let us know what you think.
