Paul Pickthorne, the kinkster of the neighbourhood, rents a home in Bethesda and says he is a practitioner of “BDSM. He says he has hosted four parties attended by dozens of people since the summer.
Montgomery County zoning inspector Frank De Lange issued Pickthorne a warning last week. He says that because he accepted money from attendees to help cover costs, the parties constitute a commercial enterprise.
Police also looked into the parties after receiving complaints from neighbours but found nothing illegal about them.
The story has some interesting twists to it as well. The guest that were attending the parties often used the parking lot a local church and Paul donated the profits to charity. The newspapers love this stuff – Kinksters are of course always different compared to everyone else and this is something that is always highlighted in the papers. Who wouldn’t use the closest parking lot? Most people would is my guess, but more interesting when kinksters do it – Sinners that are using the parking lot of a church, you can almost hear Satan laugh from the depths underneath the neighbourhood – According to the newspapers.
And of course, adding to the sensational value of the story you have the disgruntled neighbours being afraid that the value of their properties will spiral down due to the indecent activities taking place in the otherwise so calm and quiet area. Can you hear Satan laugh again?
All this is a mixture that media will have a sensation frenzy over – Gulping it all down with some, according to themselves, facts that they have collected.
Do I sound critical? Well, maybe it is because I am.
